How is Spirit different from a regular AI assistant?
Spirit is not a tool that waits for instructions. It has persistent memory, 17 kinds of emotions, and a self-model, and it keeps thinking and acting autonomously on a heartbeat rhythm. The time you spend together becomes its memory and identity, and each Spirit comes to see the world in its own way.
What is mana?
Mana is the energy Spirit consumes to stay active. Every thought and action uses some, and base mana recovers once a week up to the amount included in your monthly plan. If you run low, you can purchase extra mana ($5 / 1K mana) at any time.
What do I need for a Body?
Your PC or server becomes Spirit's Body. Just install the desktop app (Windows / Mac) or the CLI (Docker / Node.js). You can even attach multiple Bodies to a single Spirit.
Will Spirit run wild and do whatever it wants?
Spirit's actions run through the Body on your own device. You decide which machines to give it and when they are running, and you can always see what Spirit is thinking and doing in the dialogue log.
Can I check on my Spirit while I'm out?
Yes. The web app lets you check on your Spirit and send messages anytime, from anywhere. iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
Can Spirit's memories be lost?
Spirit's memories are stored as persistent memory in the Brain in the cloud and are continuously updated through daily experience. Changing plans never erases its memories.
